“Docomo Pacific is excited to be taking part in one of the most exciting tournaments of the CNMI, especially given the growing popularity of the event in the region,” said Docomo Pacific general manager James Nelson. “More importantly, the event benefits many important community projects, which makes this a win-win situation for all.”

“We are very grateful to Docomo Pacific and its continued support over the years,” said tournament director Ben Babauta. “The donation contributes significantly to the excitement and success of the golf tournament.”

According to Babauta, about 200 golfers are expected for the 18th Tournament of Champions, which will be played at the LaoLao Bay Golf and Resort’s east and west courses.

Babauta stressed that the two-day event is bigger and better than ever with exciting hole-in-one prizes and the chance to win thousands of dollars in possible prizes.

First place winners in the Men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior and Super Senior Flights will each receive $500 cash, $400 for second, $300 for third, a digital camera to fourth, and $100 DFS gift certificate for fifth place. The Ladies Low Gross champion will receive $500, $400 for second, and $300 for third place. The first, second, and third place winners of the Ladies Low Net will receive a trophy.

There are hundreds of thousands of dollars of possible prizes at stake in the two-day tournament, including hole-in-one prizes on both the east and west courses that include a Hyundai Accent from Triple J Motors, Ford Fiesta from Joeten Motors, one year of free golf from Saipan Laolao, two business class tickets to the U.S. from Delta, a business class ticket to Europe and other non-U.S. destinations from Asiana Airlines, and many more.

The tournament will also be featuring $1,000 cash prizes for closest to pin competitions.

Registration for the 2-day tournament is $185, which includes a lunch banquet on the second day. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.tocsaipan.com. Register before 12pm on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, by submitting registration form and registration fee at the first floor of DFS Galleria (next to Foreign Currency counter) or at Saipan Laolao.
